Many thanks for your suggestion Simon, I have however gone with Lynne's recommendation, which appears to have solved the problem.

Many thanks Lynne, all is fine now. It was set to "Yes, full size, but only if post has only one attachment". I've changed this to "Yes, full size". The upgrade must have altered this setting. Anyway, every image is displayed full size in the posts now, just how they were, how I want them.
