I suggest you check out the articles section on this web site - a good place to start would be mine in programming articles.

Unless you already have a knowledge of PHP, XHTML, MySQL, AJAX, CSS, etc., you're not going to be able to just dive into making mods. You're going to need to know the basics of all those languages before you can start making mods.
