That's correct, it obeys the "Receive emails from administrators" and "Receive emails from other users" setting as it should

That would subvert the purpose of the notifications, which is to be instant in order to quickly carry on a conversation

It's got nothing to do with your name, it's the ?. I've made some internal changes to my code that will correct this in the upcoming Beta 5.
