Well, I made a chat hack, as if it wasn't there already, hehe.
What makes this hack different/current features?
* It's quite generic, so it should work with multiple (java)chat providers. That's at least the goal.
* It integrates into the forums layout, and adjusts the size of the client according to the visitors screen resolution
* Usernames are automatically adjusted for use with a javaclient in case of unconventional characters (meaning all non-alfanumerical characters are converted to _ before auto-login)
* The easiest installation option is not a hack, but a simple upload and adding some templates to your vB.
What am I looking for?
Well, I tested this with my chat provider, and it works. Think there's a little room for improvement here and there.
I'm curious about other chats though and the possibilities. I also like to know what can be improved and such, before releasing the whole thing. If you currently don't have a chat, but are willing to provide some feedback on this hack: the chat provider of my choice has free chat rooms that are excellent (ads - yes, intrusive - not at all)
As I said, the easiest installation requires no hacking of any vB file, so undoing this thing is just as easy as installing it.
Issues/to do:
* Currently there's no "who's online in chat", but that will come eventually.
* Also, I wrote this thing based on vB 2.2.1. Don't think that's a problem for newer versions though. I'll upgrade sometime soon...
* I'm not really a programmer

* Documentation is not complete (yet)
Some takers please?
