The remember me box is automatically checked. Once they log in, the page refreshes as if they are not logged in. Once they hit the forum tab, it shows them as logged in.

The other issue is that in order to stop this from happening, they need to delete their cookies every time they log on to the forum. The browsers that they are using are IE8 and Safari. I have used three differemnt browsers including IE8 and have no issues.

Any ideas what would be causing this?

I have seen this on several other forums. It is like when you go to myforum.com it shows you not logged in and then when I click the logo I am. I have never really thought about how to fix it as it didn't happen to my site. I would look at your forum URL settings and make sure that everything is set correctly? I'm not fully sure about this but it says not to have a "/" in your URL settings. Make sure you don't, this MAY have something to do with it, not fully sure. I will try to look into this more.
