I already tried that, and it had no effect on the paid subscriptions user titles.

Our forum using icons for Ranks based on post counts. We have unique icons for specified posts counts, so the icon is used only once per level reached. The Stack Rank for these was set to No. I changed that to Yes for each one.

I then created seven new Ranks, set Stack Rank to Yes and for Rank Type used html code for the custom user title we wanted to be displayed for the purchased subscription.

Works! Now, the paid subscription user title appears above the rank icons.
