Vaira,
I understand your thoughts and remarks, so let me react to them.

The need to protect it assumes that everybody who is downloading your box is a potential crook. I do not know you and you don't know me. Anyway you assume I could be a crook!
So why are you publishing free software that is actually open code (php / CSS) and then encrypt it?
IMHO you don't get the spirit of open code. Either it's for free or encrypted. Really free software don't need to be encrypted.

I did this for two reason :
- Protect the code, yes that is true you are right
- But the main reason is the copyright notice in the chatbox
I know everyone might not try to get it off and that moving to ioncube encoding is not necessarly a good thing and that it is due to a minority.
Knowing the number of hours (if even it could be talked in terms of hours... I'd say more days) spent on this chatbox over the years I have felt a bit "pissed off" by the fact that people still try to remove the only requirement I ask in return of using my software.

You never would be able to write your MGC chat box for vbulletin!!
You gain benefit of non encrypted vbulletin, which isn't even for free, but you encrypt your code.

You are comparing a full software to an addition. vBulletin needs the modification to live on as modifications are the soul of it.
But yes you are right I benefit of it, but it's my choice.

I trust the admins but then tell me, if everyone is so trust-able as you suggest, why then in the past some have removed that link ?

Thanks for listening to my thoughts.

It's you choice and you have the right to think like that, "free-will" as we said
I might reconsider my position as per some feedbacks I have had, but for now I have decided to go this way, that might change in the coming weeks.
