Unfortunately I don't think there is. There are some articles that may help like this one: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228078 , that shows how rendering templates has changed from vb3 to vb4. But you really have to think of plugins as modifying the vb code, so it's not that there's any programming language that has changed, but there were many changes in the vb scripts.
