Tried it but it's not showing anything

I assume it's the funcions.php and not the admin/functions.php right? I am sure that's how it is. Found the line, added the stuff under it, saved it, uploaded it and then went to postbit template and added the $post[localtime] but nothing showed. Where in the postbit does that go anyway? Does it replace something else or does it go on its own? Thanks in advance
