oops - the instructions say "just above </body>", that's at the end. Although I'm not sure it will make a difference. In any case, you could try putting it at the end of the footer template.

Edit: I tried adding this to the end of the footer template and it works, but you also need to download the ghost images from that site and then upload them to your forum directory (the instructions are above the code box on that page you linked to). If you didn't do that, that may have been your problem - using an IE browser you get red 'x's floating around, but on other browsers you might just not see anything.

Also, instead of putting it in your footer you could put it at the end (before the </body> tag) of one page template like FORUMHOME or something, otherwise ghosts are on every page and it could get kind of annoying. But that's up to you.
