Neither should have happened. I have this mod running fine on 4.1.7 myself:

I looked at your link, I viewed source of the page- the code for the Facebook Like AND Facebook Send buttons are there, however none of the vBulletin Facebook code is present-

Please make sure you have the Facebook Platform enabled in your Admin CP -> settings -> options -> Facebook Options.
