Instead of the banned message i am getting you do not have sufficient permission for moderators and normal users. Its definitely the usergroup issue but cannot figure out what it is.

3.8 to 4.1.6... Did you upgrade all of the above listed modifications to their 4.x versions? If some were not available disable them for now... does the error still persist?

It seems like a outdated plugin issue imo.
