Well, it might get kind of messy trying to show the subnav without the main tab, so I will pass on trying to explain that. As for renaming it, it is probably just a phrase, but it might affect more than just the menu tab, so you will have to just try it out and see. I am sure there are more involved ways of doing this, but I haven't done them.

Why would the Main Tab and Subnav be connected in code?

ChrisTERiS, what are the chances of having a activate/deactivate Main Tab option in the settings? Or to be able to change the name in the settings from say Classifieds, Auctions, Sale Ad's, Want Ad's, or whatever the admin would want?
