No, whether or not you used the sample CMS data, if your Home link in the Navbar gives you the error you mentioned, then the installation was not completed correctly.

I suggest you re-install and follow the installation html or txt file exactly. Since your board is likely partially installed, you'll want to first turn the board off, then re-download all the files, then run the install routine, and wait for it to tell you it finished before you delete the install file and turn the board back on to see if everything's working right.
