On editing a page I get

I heard to fix the above error you have to do the following

It might be necessary to turn off magic quotes either in php.ini or in .htaccess.
Else you might get this error when editing pages:

However no one has said how you do this. what is more in wiki there are also 5 or 6 htaccess so which one is it or is it all,

Can any one help. by giving clear instructions :erm:
