I'm just curious about this design decision that intermingles data/content with presentation/templates. I'm setting up a blog for my vBulletin website but I'm using Wordpress for the blog pages. There's a pretty solid separation between data/content and presentation/templates in Wordpress which makes changes and updates to the presentation very simple and easy.

So, I'm wondering if the inclusion of the vBulletin templates as part of the database may have historical reasons, such as memory management or bandwidth, that may no longer apply. Or is it something else? Inquiring minds want to know!
