vb.org Archive - View Single Post - Import users CSV, generate passwords and email them to users

I'm building a vB forum that will become the home of several communities using different platforms.

While we are starting fresh on the forum/thread side we want to import a bunch of current non vB users from a CSV file of username & email addresses, have them assigned passwords and then email each user with their new details that can the be reset.

Any advice on how best to do this?
