Suddenly having issue with blank white pages

I have made no changes to the site and over the past two weeks my site has become progressively slower. I thought maybe it was an issue with spam or something so I applied the recent patch that was released but no help. Today the site is soooo slow it is returning blank white pages or this message "Safari can?t open the page ?http://www.englishbulldognews.com/forums/? because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again."

The only odd thing is earlier in the week I was getting tons of database errors in the middle of the night. I also thought applying the patch would help this matter which it did. But that is the only "odd thing" I can think of that has happened in the past two weeks.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can troubleshoot this matter?
