I am sure there is a better solution, but off the top of my head -- I would use Firefly's newest hack that lets you alter the postbit of the first post. Maybe even alter that for the first two posts??

Anyhow, I think it can be forum specific and in that new postbit you create you can add whatever it is you need to display the ads.

Have you seen some of the advertisement hacks around here? They might be what your looking for.
