get this error with the [php] tag in admin/ functions.php code

Parse error: parse error in /home/www/scgdirect/bbs/admin/functions.php on line 64 
 
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getuserinfo() in /home/www/scgdirect/bbs/admin/sessions.php on line 323 

when i remove the [php] tag the error goes away but i get this instead of a glowing username. Array [specialusername]
