Huh, weird... I just copied and pasted directly from your post to my additional.css, and it seems to work for me. O.o

Do you by any chance have FireBug (a FireFox addon)? If you do, you can right-click on that element, and see exactly where it's getting whichever properties it's getting.

EDIT: Or link me to your site, maybe I can look?
