How can we make it so the 'reply to thread' button doesn't show up below, after someone already clicks on the 'reply' button?

Please note I don't want to remove it totally, only remove it after someone has already clicked on the reply button here

The reason is, a lot of users are getting confused because the reply to thread button is there at the bottom (after they click reply) so after they type their reply and hit that, their post disappears.
