Urgent help needed please

Hi,

I need to disable my forum (disable it) but I'm unable to gain access to my adminCP or any other way to do it the 'normal way'.

I've been into the SQL DB via phpmyadmin and gone into SETTING --> bbactive
And set the value to '0' and everyone can still access the forum.

Anyone help getting it disabled please?
