Im am starting a community website to cover a lot of local interests and one of the things i wanted to do on the CMS section was have a whats on section so people can quickly see what events are happening soon.

My dilemma

(Option 1)
The calendar only displays on the forum page when i want calendar entries to appear as articles or articles to link to calendar entries?

The manual way of doing this is to create a calendar entry for every What's On article in the cms and linking, just wondering if anyone has a better solution?

(Option 2)

Put a link on the navbar on what's on and link to the calendar on the forum?
Is it hard to add a link to Home Forum Blog Whats New menu?
Is there anyway to make the section widget link to this as well?
