Laptop drives are around 5200 rpms
"green" drives are 5900 rpms
Normal drives are 7200 rpms
High Preformance Drives are 10k RPM
Then there is SSD
In my dream world, I'd run 2x ssd drives, 80-120gb drive for the OS
and another 120gb+ drive for games and high demand programs
1-2 big 7200 rpm storage drives for videos, other files, etc.
I personally prefer AMD, but i know an i7 is hot stuff, can't really argue about that.

While the nvidia video cards might be better as a whole, if you're planning on doing multiple monitor setup ( http://bit.ly/ecL2Xy http://bit.ly/dXzI7E) consider going with ATI cards. I'd suggest any of the Dell Ultrasharp widescreen monitors from 2011. I have a U2311h and a U2111h. I wish I could have 2 more 2311h's for widescreen gaming
If you're going to run more than 1 video card, you're going to need a MUCH bigger PSU than 750 watts.

The 5900 rpm I did notice however they labeled it "Low Power" and I'm out of the loop but assumed that meant it would last longer... I do agree with the 7200 rpm as for me that's norm the 10000 rpm is lovely just not included... I saw one setup where they had the main HD as a 120GB SSD with the 1TB for backup that way the games and other programs you run on the SSD load lightning fast what do you think about that? I do have a external 1TB it's just nearly full though...
And Zachery I love you bud i.e. same here AMD fanboy myself... I just don't see another mobo that will support AMD w/ six slots for memory within my price range... and only one monitor a 40" samsung and w/ my old Nvidia 260 GTX it runs 1920 x 1080 flawlessly so should be the same, basically two cards for anything outside the norm or for making Crysis 2 run flawlessly.
Still debating would not be surprised if I change my mind again just trying to stay within a 1500-1600 budget... wife said so!
