Make sure she gives you your custom number and you have access to the vBulletin Member's Area on vbulletin.com. If you ever run into issues you'll need this info to contact support.
As for vBulletin itself, send the URL to some of your friends, make sure they can register and post a couple things, just to make sure it's working. One thing I would look out for is to make sure email is setup correctly so new members get welcome e-mails and activation instructions if you have it setup that way.
Otherwise it would be hard to say what to check when we really don't know what you had setup.
Also if this is new, do you know if you are using vBulletin 4 or vBulletin 3? 3 is older, most new sites start with VB 4 these days. If you do have VB4 it would be best to ask questions in the VB4 section. (This section is for VB3).
