This is concerning my test copy of my site which I use for development, it runs on a local host with apache server/php/sql which I installed

The site uses vbA CMPS and VBulletin 3.7.0


OK the problem I have is this

If I go to http://localhost I see the vbA home page that guests would normally see

If I then log in I get a message 'Thanks for logging in, Support'

And then after a couple seconds I am dumped back at the guest home page. I can repeat this procedure but never get logged in.


If I go to http://localhost/forums and log in from there, then i get logged in OK. If I now follow my vbA navbar link to http://localhost I am still logged in and correctly see the alternative home page that a logged in member would see. However if I try to log out from this page I can't log out! (unless I go back to localhost/forums and then I can log out)

The cookie path in the ACP is set to '/'

I am using the same index.php and forums/index.php files as my live site (some paths modified of course to suit my local server) and the live site works fine.

I've tried deleting all cookies in my browser but it does not help

When I say it runs on a local host, I mean I am trying to log in from my browser on the same PC that is running the apache server

Any suggestions?
