Im thinking the same. The reputation button should work as easy as the facebook 'like' button. Without a popup. Everything within the post. With some Javascript/jquery it should be possible to let a RATE button transform into some kind of rating scale and a text input field, when that RATE button is clicked upon.
This would make the complex 6 clicks process into a 2-3 click process.
