Depending on what you are looking for in the way of a front end for Vb forums, Phpfox does make sense for some applications. The CMS it has is much easier to work with than the VB4 suite version of CMS and it does give you the ability of having way better member pages.
There is a plugin/product out there for the latest versions of both VB and phpfox , ($40), but it has some issues. Install instructions are pretty inaccurate and sketchy with it and due to some errors will only work with short URL re-write enabled on your server and a REAL lot of tweaking.
A free version should be out before too long.
