Using a style version 3.6.8 for Vb 4.x.x won't work very great, but it might work. As Qwk86gn said:

Make sure that you uploaded your Images in the correct folder. To make sure of that you can check the paths.

AdminCP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Style Vars -> Search for ImagePaths. Make sure that the links correspond with the ones from your forum root.
