Do you mean from vB3 to vB4? If so, one way to do it is to convert the templates first, just the variables. Later you can decide whether you want the templates to be vB4 compatible or whether you are going to be rid of most the <table> stuff and change to <div> format. Then do the XML file, and then anything that stands out in the code. Install it on a test forum with error reporting on and see what breaks. Go back, fix, and repeat. If this is for an add-on on vBorg to be re-posted, get the author's permission first.
