I guess they always pass on the current URL of the page to the Facebook widget. But I am also curious how to achieve that for the whole site and not just the forum view.

Twitter will pick this up itself. You just can use the code Ukindian provided and edit your Twitter name.
For Facebook in threads view, this works for me

but I can't get that to work in other places like albums.
