BUT, Now I just tried it EXCLUDING my top 6 or so forums which consist of RESTRICTED ACCESS forums for only a few members + one item listed as a forum could really be a link to a category in my File Download Library, Bug Tracker, etc.

I excluded those & it still didn't stay once I clicked SAVE.

FINALLY: I deselected the Parent Category which contains both hidden & public forums (as well as the private forums mentioned above) so I was left with ONLY public forums enabled & when I clicked Save this time, it actually worked. It kept my selected forums remembered when I returned to those options + didn't give me that Post Confirmation screen or PHP error on Line 13.

Nice.

We'll keep you posted on how it goes here.

Thanks again!

Firefish,
I seem to have the same issue in 3.8.x when I highlight the forums I want and click save the page refreshes but it doesn't show any of the forums highlighted. I thought maybe I had accidentally highlighted ones that were private forums so I deselected everything except one public forum and tried to save. Again list refreshes but doesn't show any forum highlighted or saved. Posting a message in the forum with a keyword doesn't send an email. So basically it isn't working until I can get the admin options to save the forums I want it to save. Do you have any idea what table that is saved in and if so I could manually go open that table using a database tool and populate it with the forum id numbers or whatever it puts into the field(s)? to make it work manually.

Anyone seen the author????
