Edit: Never mind, please ignore, this is for VB 3.x.

I don't know about a mod but if you edit your templates and find:

and deleted everything between  and  you'll remove your icon legend... Then delete the text: $forumrules which is just a couple lines below the bottom of the "icon key" that will remove the posting permissions. I did this for one of my styles to get rid of the useless info...

This is for forumdisplay template... i think it's the same or very similar for showthread and the PM templates too.
