I don't think there is one exact thread that details exactly how to update a specific style. Styles are an art form and rather than trying to update an old one most people would just get a new one. Or pay someone to customize a new one to look like an old one.

Personally I know nothing about custom styles and that probably goes for most people hanging out here in the General forum.
