Did anyone ever try to arrange forums on forumhome in columns?

Hi

I am really trying to overcome the standard vBulletin look for the forum index.

Today I surfed the net and found this forum (ipb not vB): http://abnormalinsight.com/

I really like the idea of arranging forums in columns like the above forum does.

Is that possible with vB4?
Did anyone ever try this and got it to work?
