Yea i know about doing it that way, but so many people have their stuff hosted on photobucket, etc, they are used to doing it by just hot linking.
The "sigpic" way deters people from doing it which means less sigs. not to mention it means more hosting for your forums.

haha, this is why I have my forum setup to where people with under 5 posts can't posts links at all. After 5 posts, they can have links in sigs, post links etc... stops the bots dead in their tracks from what you already described.

The way to do this is setup a group promotion which moves them into the link using group after 5 posts for those wondering.

But it doesn't prevent them from making 10 posts in about 10 minutes in the middle of the night. lol
