As i wanted to test the system myself i created a new plate for the addon using the empire state as an example. This is the quality of the plate that gets created:

Every plate option like new plates, old plates etc can be done.

At this screenshot you can see how the pulldown for the selection of a plate can look like:

So I guess the test didnt fail

Its all in german, but thats a matter of translation and if the scene is interested in it.
