OK ... sussed it.

For example.

If you want to set a tab to "album.php", you set "THIS_SCRIPT" to "album", nothing else ... no URL, no extension ... just the script name and your tab will be highlighted correctly.

If you want albumall.php to highlight the same tab, you add "albumall" to the above THIS_SCRIPT bit. (no spaces next to the commas)

Complicated, but I got there in the end.
