Alright, steam just released this not too long ago:

I was wondering how I would implement this? I don't want users to be able to log in via their steam accounts, but rather grab information. I noticed another vbulletin forum that had this set up (phoenixdawn.org) and when you make an account, you have to verify your steam account before posting on the forum. Whenever you verify the steam account, it takes you to the steam login page, you enter your details and all it does is put your SteamID in the "about me" section of the forums.

Is there anyone who knows how this could be done?
