(CMS) Can't get an article to NOT display on the front-page (content.php)

I have re-made this article a few times already and it has the same settings as another article; it is fully public and published. Screen shot of settings on the article:

What setting am I missing here to make this NOT appear on the list of articles on the front-page?

Another question: I can change it to not published and yet an anonymous visitor can see it? Why?
