I run a dedicated server from hostgator and in the last 6 or 7 years I have never had downtime unless there was an upgrade being done. The server has many custom scripts that are NOT open source but built from scratch and all run fine with no issues and some sites have triple the traffic my forum has.
vbSEO causes this issue
Top Process %CPU 88.0 /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php
Top Process %CPU 81.0 /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php
Top Process %CPU 62.0 /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php
Meaning it runs way too many processes and it does crash the server and force it to be restarted at least 8 times a month.
vbSEO's solution is to change host, sorry that is not going to happen.. They should fix their coding so it does not use so many processes and yes it can be done, if they would take the time to do it...
I have a feeling they will not though with the run around I have gotten thus far.. If they don't then they better be prepared to give me a refund of the over-priced plugin.
So is there another solution for SEO for vBuletin 4.0.4 ???

Just the built in URL rewrite settings.
Honestly, I'd go with no URL rewrite settings any way, they are of little value for the trouble. Hopefully your site isn't established with the fURL's to it already.
