I probably won't be able to walk you through it, but I might be able to offer some insights. I'm in something of a similar situation right now, where I'm implementing a custom login process to communicate with Vbulletin. Surely, some of the same info must apply to what I've learned.

I've had to crack open the code on the back end to integrate into VB's login process. Maybe not directly related, but we'll see.

So it sounds like you're trying to duplicate the registration process that happens on VB so that registration happens on your site at the same time? Is that correct?
