You can edit the templates or CSS yourself, but this is not something we support, so you'll be on your own

Pro version allows you and your members to choose the shout area location themselves, above/below shoutbox means the "strip"

Yeah, the subitems had to be removed for v5 because of instances; if we find anything else to put there we'll be sure to add it in.
