For what it is worth. AVS Forum choose ForumRunner for our dedicated app. Here is the press release on it...
AVS Forum Goes Mobile with Free iPhone App
Rochester, NY, June 1, 2010 – AVS Forum, the premiere on-line community for home theater enthusiasts, is going mobile via a newly released iPhone application. The AVS Forum App is now available for download via Apple’s iTunes. Just search AVSFOURM.
“AVS Forum has always been about two things -- staying at the fore front of technology and fans of home theater sharing with one another. This new App makes those easier than ever. It is exciting for AVS Forum to provide a dedicated iPhone application to our increasingly mobile site members," stated AVS Forum representatives.
The application was developed for AVS Forum by End of Time Studios, LLC, producers of Forum Runner. AVS Forum chose the Forum Runner platform based on the features, the development support, and the custom programming capabilities needed for this unique environment. The free application will enable registered AVS Forum Members to:
• Search and post to the forums directly from the iPhone
• Receive push notices of subscribed threads and private messages
• Browse forums in an easy-to-use interface
• Fully customize their home screen with favorite forums
• View embedded links without leaving the application
• View pages in portrait or landscape mode (it’s all about widescreen!)
• Send attachments, taken from the built in camera or the image library
AVS Forum continues, "We envision news being brought instantly to the AVS community from AVS members who are attending trade shows such as CEDIA Expo, CES, or InfoCom. Users can see product release and new technology introductions as they happen. Everyone can benefit in some way from this mobile application." Support for the iPad and Android are also under development.
