Hmm, it would be better if you posted this in the vbstats thread so Bane could read this, too.
Anyway, first thing you do wrong is the file structure. The install file goes into the admin dir like http://www.yoursite.com/forums/admin...ts_install.php This script only adds the needed tables to the database. You only need to run it ONCE. Else you get errors. After that, do the file and template changes as written in the instructions. And those are actually very clear.
