the first would require hacking the profile fields, which is sort of explained in the avatar hack. it's not something that can be easily explained to a puter illiterate.

for the preview, while I don't know why you would want to, you can take the "<INPUT TYPE="Submit" NAME="preview" VALUE="Preview Reply">" out of the newreply and newthread templates. The function will still exist but the button will be removed.
