For those unable to see additional user groups:

Go to ACP ---> Options ---> User Group Color Bar ---> User Grup Order Style

In last section add ID numbers of new user groups you created (apart from default 6,5,7 and 2) i.e. 9,10,11,12 etc...

This way you can also line up your user groups in any order you like: from most important 6 (admin) to 2 (registered user). Personally I skipped banned, validating and other usergroups that aren't full members and currently my display order looks this way:

6,5,7,10,9,11,2

Very simple and nice add-on, my thanks to author. I am using 4.0.2 btw, no issues.
