It looks more like it was something within the "code" text he posted than a bug with the template. Maybe someone enabled HTML in the forum? I have noticed that HTML doesn't display properly in code tags when HTML is enabled in a forum. It actually becomes part of the pages HTML code and is read as HTML code.

EDIT: No, HTML isn't enabled, but it still looks like it was something in the code section that caused it.
