Note: You should not normally need to empty the search index, however if items are showing in search results after they have been permanently deleted then emptying the index and rebuilding the search index will fix this. Can you do just the one for search... um, sure. I'm just telling you what was displayed on my screen after my upgrade. I did all three. I don't know what will happen if you just do the search, but you are the admin and can do whatever you want.
